Artist's Bio
I am an artist working in the Theatre and Film industries painting scenery. For my own visual expression, I primarily work making Woodcut or Linocut prints. Block prints have a starkness, simplicity and strength. I particularly enjoy the translation of a sketch into a block print imbuing it with as much energy and movement as I can. The process of cutting the block makes me examine each line and shape for its significance and weight. Patterns become very important in creating volumes and visual interest, contributing more details to the story of the work.
